Locomotive #111 is undergoing an operational restoration at Ulrich Locomotive Company in Strasburg, CO. Her delivery to the Georgetown Loop is targeted for sometime in 2007.

The newly-appointed commissioners for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad met with representatives of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Managment Company.  The meeting in Chama, NM, provided an orientation/overview of railroad operations to the four commissioners, two each from Colorado and New Mexico.

Railstar, Inc. and the Colorado Historical Society commenced operations on the Georgetown Loop.  Steam locomotive #12 and diesel #21 double-headed the five-car passenger train.

The Colorado Historic Railroad Preservation Association announces its formation to initiate, guide, and monitor local and state efforts to preserve railroading artifacts in the Centennial State.

 It is reported that Railstar, Inc., Lee Behrens of the Colorado Historical Society, and a representative of Uhrich Locomotive Works of Strasburg, CO, are in Durango for the Durango & Silverton Railroad’s sale of excess items.

It is also reported that any rolling stock they have for sale is broken down, rotten, and has been sitting on the ground since the 1960’s.
